Meet our
Rabbi & Rebbetzin

Rabbi Menny & Clara Overlander joined us from Sydney in May 2020.

Menny grew up in London, England in a family of 10, helping his parents run their Jewish community centre in Hendon.

At age 13, he moved to Israel and then America to study.

Following his studies, Menny worked as a Madrich for different Yeshivot that worked to educate teens and young adults who needed a fresh perspective on Judaism and on life in general.

This is also where he trained to be an ordained Rabbi, receiving his Rabbinical Ordination in Tzfat, Israel.

In 2018, Menny moved to Sydney, Australia where he worked to invigorate the Jewish community of Double Bay and was then employed by a Crisis Centre called Jewish House, where he worked as a Social Worker for a year-and-a-half.

He is currently completing a diploma in Community Services in Mental Health as well as teaching in Yeshivah College.

Clara was born in Melbourne, Australia to Yossi & Gilly Klein. She studied in both New York &  Israel for several years, and has a degree in childhood education.

In April 2021, Clara & Menny founded Aliya Girls Space which is devoted to providing a safe space for young girls in the Melbourne Jewish community to come and express themselves in a non-judgemental and loving environment.
